Throughout the Xeni territory there are various wild game in the hills and far up in the mountains. There are moose, deer, black bears, grizzly bears, cougar, mountain lion, bighorn sheep, mountain goats and more. Although most of the Xeni community members are ranchers, hunting and fishing is a year round activity. A few Xeni members also own guiding areas. Xeni has two large trapping areas, which they are trying to protect from logging.
The Tsilhqot'in people of Xeni are very strong in living in their traditional ways. Both young and old continue to hunt using methods passed down from generation to generation not only to keep tradition, but because they work. If you are a hunter and want to learn the traditional ways of tracking, trapping or guiding we have many members who have generations of experience to share.
